The 2024 United States Mint Silver Proof Set showcases 10 exquisite proof coins, elegantly encased in two clear plastic lenses and presented in a beautifully designed package that’s perfect for display. The half dollar, quarters, and dime are all composed of 99.9% fine silver.
This set features all five 2024 American Women Quarters™, expertly packaged in one protective lens to preserve their exceptional proof finish.
The American Women Quarters Program is a four-year initiative honoring the accomplishments of women who have significantly shaped our nation’s history, continuing from 2022 through 2025. Each year, the Mint issues five new quarters featuring reverse designs that celebrate prominent American women from diverse backgrounds.
Each quarter’s reverse design pays tribute to women who made notable contributions in various fields, including suffrage, civil rights, abolition, government, humanities, science, space, and the arts.
All coins in this series feature a common obverse design depicting a portrait of George Washington, originally crafted by Laura Gardin Fraser as part of a candidate entry for the 1932 quarter, which commemorated Washington’s bicentennial. The inscriptions read “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2024.”
The 2024 reverse designs honor:
- Dr. Pauli Murray: Depicted with her eyeglass-framed face within the word “HOPE,” symbolizing her belief in the power of hope for societal reform. A line from her poem “Dark Testament” characterizes hope as “A SONG IN A WEARY THROAT.” Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “25₵,” “THE REVEREND DR. PAULI MURRAY,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
- Patsy Takemoto Mink: Features Mink holding her landmark “TITLE IX” legislation, set against a backdrop of the Capitol Building’s south wing. The lei she wears symbolizes her home state of Hawaii. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “PATSY TAKEMOTO MINK,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “25 CENTS,” and “EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN EDUCATION.”
- Dr. Mary Edwards Walker: Portrayed with her pocket surgical kit, the Medal of Honor on her uniform, and a surgeon’s pin at her collar. The design highlights the Medal of Honor’s details on the left. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “25 CENTS,” “DR. MARY EDWARDS WALKER,” and “MEDAL OF HONOR 1865.”
- Celia Cruz: Depicted joyfully performing in a vibrant rumba-style dress, with her signature catchphrase “¡AZÚCAR!” inscribed. Additional inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “25₵,” and “CELIA CRUZ.”
- Zitkala-Ša: Shown in traditional Yankton Sioux attire, holding a book that represents her work as an author and activist for Native American rights.
