Greatest Generation 2024 Uncirculated Silver Dollar

The coins in this program honor the National World War II Memorial and recognize the service and sacrifice of American soldiers and civilians during World War II. This memorial serves as a significant venue for commemorative and educational programs that pay tribute to America’s “Greatest Generation” and their efforts to preserve freedoms for future generations.

Obverse: The design features six figures collaborating to support the Earth, symbolizing the unity of the military branches (Army Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, Army, and Marine Corps) along with the Merchant Marine during World War II. Reverse: This side showcases a view from beneath a Baldacchino sculptural canopy inside the Victory Pavilion at the World War II Memorial. The sculpture depicts four eagles holding a laurel wreath surrounding a globe centered on the Pacific Ocean.
