U.S. Navy One-Ounce Silver Medal

The obverse (heads) of the medal features the U.S. Navy destroyer John Paul Jones slicing through the waves, with the USS Constitution sailing in the background. An F-18 Hornet formation flies overhead, leaving smoke trails in tribute to both ships. The inscriptions include “UNITED STATES NAVY” and “DON’T GIVE UP THE SHIP,” a famous phrase uttered by the mortally wounded Commander James Lawrence to his crew on the USS Chesapeake during the War of 1812.

On the reverse (tails), the design showcases a line of sailors standing at attention with the American flag waving in the background. The inscriptions highlight the Navy’s core values: “HONOR,” “COURAGE,” and “COMMITMENT.”
